Texas Apartment Association (TAA)

The Texas Apartment Association provides advocacy, education and communication for the Texas rental housing industry. Most leases used in Bryan/College Station are TAA leases. The state of Texas has an extensive property code that outlines your rights and responsibilities as it relates to renting property in Texas. It is important to remember that it is your responsibility to understand what is expected of you as a tenant and how to protect yourself and your property while residing in a rental dwelling.

Applying for Rental Housing
Once you find a place to live, you will complete a rental application and pay a non-refundable application fee to cover the cost of verifying your credit, rental history, etc.  Be sure to complete all questions on the application.

Emergency Disaster Response
Listen to your local radio and TV stations for updated flood information.  A flood WATCH means flooding or flash flooding is possible in your area. A flood WARNING means flooding or flash flooding is already occurring or will occur soon in your area. When a flood or flash flood warning is issued for your area, head for higher ground and stay there. Never drive on flooded roads.
